Message #1 reason for not using the ROD: Richmond's late publication of measly 450 ft-lb torque rating.

#2 reason: Minimum order of 30 input shafts (~$12k) up-front before it could ever happen.

I primarily wanted to use the ROD platform because G-Force and Liberty offer no-breako, bad-ass five speeds using the same case. The ROD just seemed like a natural for the people that wanted the elusive six speed for their Z32.

I think both G-force and Liberty will make a custom input to fit their transmissions at a minimal (if any) additional cost. So if any of you guys are interested in pursuing either of these options. I'll still do the adapter and supply the input shaft print.

Or at the very least the OE five speed could possibly be modified by Liberty with their face-plate gear engagement mechanism. It seems like the major achilles heel is the synchros.
